The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and representatives of the Government, as well as the military leadership and clergy of Ukraine, took part in the events marking the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933.

In a joint prayer, they honoured the memory of all the innocent victims of the totalitarian regime, all those who were starved to death, by lighting lamps at the Bitter Memory of Childhood monument, a sculpture of a girl holding ears of grain.

"90 years ago, the stalinist regime committed a deliberate crime – the genocide of the Ukrainian people. Famine was a weapon. A targeted weapon against millions of Ukrainians. Only because they were Ukrainians," the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine stressed.

He noted that over the years, russia has repeated terrible crimes against Ukrainians because we are Ukrainians.

"And today we know that crimes against humanity can never be forgiven or forgotten. Never! So that they never happen again," stressed Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk and the speakers of foreign parliaments also got acquainted with the exposition of the National Museum of the Holodomor-genocide of the Ukrainian People.
