On the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko congratulated the soldiers of the 59th separate mechanized infantry brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk and presented awards and honors.
"Our Heroes, brave and courageous, are resisting the occupiers and standing up for Ukraine and its future — a free country throughout our territory of 603,628 square kilometers," the First Vice Speaker emphasized.
He also noted that during the conversation with the soldiers, they asked him to convey to everyone, especially to our partners, that they need ammunition and weapons, armored vehicles and drones. "The guys have enough fighting spirit and skills, as well as faith that we will liberate our land," emphasized Oleksandr Korniyenko.
In addition, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine handed over drawings from young Ukrainians to the soldiers: "Children understand everything. They understand who we owe our lives to and what we are fighting for."
