The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk summed up the results of the plenary session on 28 July, at which a number of decisions were adopted, in particular:
Resolutions:
9535 – appealed to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), parliaments and governments of its member states on the need to revoke the russian federation’s membership in UNESCO;
9525 – appealed to the UN, the parliaments and governments of the Group of Seven countries, EU and NATO member states, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the Independent International Medical Humanitarian Organisation Medecins Sans Frontieres to ensure the exchange and return to Ukraine of prisoners of war – the defenders of Mariupol.
IN GENERAL:
9467/9468 – exempted optical surveillance devices from taxation and import duties to enable the defence structures to meet the needs of the defence forces and to repel the aggressor in an effective and timely manner;
8263 – established clear procedures for classifying settlements as cities, towns, and villages, and legislated the procedure for the establishment and liquidation of settlements and districts, as well as the establishment and change of their boundaries and administrative centres;
2390 – created appropriate conditions at the state level for the transition to a new competitive model of the electricity market, in particular, to ensure timely repayment of debts incurred in the wholesale electricity market.
AS THE BASIS:
9402 – proposed to introduce a simplified procedure for declaring military equipment and other goods similar to the existing international practice, to cancel the procedure for submitting certain permits and passing official control measures during the registration of military equipment of the armed forces of the EU and NATO member states, which, in accordance with the procedure established by law, are allowed to enter the territory of Ukraine.
