The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, together with the First Lady of the Republic of Lithuania Diana Nausiediene and the Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen, took part in the Young Think Tank discussion dedicated to the International Children’s Day.

During the event, they talked to Lithuanian and Ukrainian youth.

“Young people are the future of any country. They are the ones who will come after us and, professing the valour of previous generations, will build our common future,” said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk. He expressed his gratitude that Ukrainian youth, who are currently in Lithuania, have a valuable opportunity to communicate with their Lithuanian friends, establishing these relations for the future: “Thank you for the opportunity to be here and to communicate with our future, with our children in such a large space.”

“Together with the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, we are striving to create a safe humanitarian space for Ukrainians, where they can not only heal from the trauma of a brutal war and restore their mental balance, but also continue to develop their community, their national culture and identity,” said the First Lady of Lithuania Diana Nausiediene. She also noted that it is important for Lithuania that the younger generation of Ukraine does not lose the opportunity to learn, to become leaders of the future, and to create their own future and the future of a free Ukraine.

“I believe that in the future, we will always support Ukraine with our actions until we achieve complete victory. Our entire society will be with Ukraine at all levels,” said the Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen, stressing that Lithuania immediately supported Ukraine with all its actions since 24 February 2022, having strengthened all possible options for such assistance.
