During a working visit to the French Republic, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko met with the Chairman of the Friendship Group of the National Assembly (Lower House of the French Parliament) Benjamin Haddad and the MP Frederic Petit.

First of all, the First Vice-Speaker noted the adoption by the Lower House of the French Parliament of the latest resolutions – recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people and a call to the European Union to officially recognise the russian wagner pmc as a terrorist organisation. He also stressed the importance of recognising the russian federation as a terrorist state.

“It is important to give Ukraine a way to move forward with its integration into the European Union and accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation,” Oleksandr Korniienko said during the meeting. 

The parties also discussed the reconstruction of Ukrainian regions and continued support for recovery efforts.

“Working with the countries of the Global South is a separate area of activity in order to convey the truth and expand international support,” the First Vice Speaker informed his colleagues.

In conclusion, Oleksandr Korniienko stressed that Ukraine highly appreciates the assistance of the French Republic and hopes for its continued strengthening.
