The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, held a conversation with the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili.  Following the talks, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia reaffirmed his readiness to visit Ukraine together with the parliamentary delegation.  The delegation is expected to include deputies from both Georgia's ruling party and the opposition.

"I am thrilled that minor misunderstandings between our countries have been resolved thanks to the wisdom and patriotism of the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.  I will be delighted to see the Georgian parliamentary delegation in Ukraine and visit those places that are extremely important for the Ukrainian people, "Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

For his part, Shalva Papuashvili expressed hope that this visit would allow Georgian parliamentarians to see what is happening in Ukraine and confirm the friendly relations between Georgia and Ukraine.  According to him, the support of Ukraine and the Ukrainian nation is a moral and historical duty for him.

The Speakers of the Parliaments of Georgia and Ukraine discussed Georgian-Ukrainian relations and further strengthening historically fraternal ties between countries and nations. Shalva Papuashvili said that about 20,000 Ukrainians had found shelter in Georgia while fleeing the war.

Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the Georgian government for providing all opportunities for free accommodation, food, medical care, and free transport services for temporarily displaced persons from Ukraine. In addition, Ukraine and the Ukrainian nation will never forget the Georgian volunteers who died defending Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
