First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko met with President of the International Ice Hockey Federation Luke Tardif.
"One of the priorities for Ukraine today is the development of the sports industry. Thus, along with the construction of swimming pools and multifunctional gyms, the construction of hockey infrastructure is becoming important. According to the program, 26 ice arenas are to be built in Ukraine over the next two years. At the same time, climate change, in particular global warming, makes us seriously think about the fact that in the future the development of hockey will be possible primarily due to artificial ice," said Oleksandr Korniyenko.
With this in mind, Luke Tardif focused on economic approaches to ice making that would not harm the environment.
