A.Parubiy attends independence festivities

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy took part in celebration events on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.

A series of the events was carried out today, on Thursday.

There was a ceremonial public prayer “Orison for Ukraine” that A.Parubiy took part in Saint Sophia Cathedral. Then he laid wreaths at the monuments to Taras Shevchenko and Mykhailo Hrushevskyi, and paid a tribute of deep respect to the memory of the Heavenly Hundred who laid their lives heroically in the Revolution of Dignity. A ceremonial march-past of Ukrainian troops down the Khreshchatyk Street viewed by the Chairperson was his last public event of the occasion attended.
