First of all, the focus was on the security situation and the protection of Ukrainian cities. “This is the most important thing for us today, it is a matter of survival of our country and our future,” said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.

At the same time, he noted that Ukraine’s critical needs include air defence systems, electronic warfare systems, drones and anti-drone systems, ammunition and armoured vehicles.

“Ukraine needs the latest weapons. In this regard, it is important to intensify bilateral cooperation in the military-technical sphere and joint production of weapons,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

He also stressed that bilateral security guarantees are important for Ukraine. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said that Ukraine currently has relevant agreements with partner countries: “I look forward to the start of consultations on the development of a bilateral agreement between Ukraine and Poland.”

The meeting also focused on Ukraine's path to the European Union and NATO. Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his gratitude to the Polish partners for supporting Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic path.

“Despite the war, we are thinking about peace. We need a just peace,” said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, adding that Ukraine is actively working to prepare the First High-Level Conference on Peace for Ukraine to be held in Switzerland, which will be the inaugural summit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi's Peace Formula. He also emphasised that Ukraine looks forward to the highest level of representation of the Polish side at the Global Peace Summit.

In conclusion, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked Poland for its significant contribution to countering russian aggression and consolidating the international community's assistance to our country. “Our strategic partnership should serve the security and well-being of our peoples,” he stressed.
