First of all, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of the Netherlands for hosting the ministerial conference “Restoring Justice for Ukraine” in the near future: “It is important to keep the initiative to establish a special tribunal on the international agenda.”
The First Deputy Speaker focused on the needs for defence assistance, in particular, ammunition, air defence systems and artillery. “Defence of the Ukrainian sky is very important for the economy and the return of IDPs home,” he said.
Oleksandr Korniienko stressed that Ukraine welcomed the resolution of the Dutch Parliament, which took a leading role in the issue of using russian assets to restore Ukraine's economy, as the russian federation must compensate for the losses.
The parties also discussed Ukraine's integration into the European Union and NATO. “Among our expectations is to receive an invitation to join the Alliance at the Washington Summit,” said Oleksandr Korniienko.
In addition, he informed his colleagues about the current security situation and the consequences of hostile attacks. The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also spoke in more detail about projects to support veterans and the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Programme of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.
The meeting was also attended by Andrii Zhupanyn, the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Gas, Gas Transmission and Gas Supply Policy of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities.
