The potential of the Lithuanian healthcare system in the treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainian servicemen is much higher than the one currently used. Lithuania is ready to receive Ukrainians and satisfy all applications for rehabilitation.

This was stated by the Minister of Health of Lithuania Arūnas Dulkys during a meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk, who is on a visit to Vilnius.

“We are ready to receive more Ukrainians,” said Arūnas Dulkys. He added that the Lithuanian Ministry of Health and the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs are planning to implement a project to establish rehabilitation centres in Ukraine.

According to the Embassy of Ukraine in Lithuania, last year 81 Ukrainians who suffered from the armed aggression of the russian federation were treated in Lithuanian hospitals. Further treatment is planned for 400 people, as well as rehabilitation for 1200 people.

The Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk thanked Lithuania for the assistance already provided and stressed that Ukraine now needs, in addition to rehabilitation courses, a large number of rehabilitation specialists and psychological support programmes, especially for children.

“Each life saved is an important step towards Ukraine's victory in the war, and the assistance of the Lithuanian Ministry of Health brings us closer to this,” said Olena Kondratiuk, the Vice Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, at the meeting in Vilnius.
