“In these special days for Ukraine, the days when two years ago russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, our country's friends and partners are with us side by side,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said.

He also noted that Ukraine and North Macedonia have an active political dialogue: “This is important, as well as the practical assistance provided in confronting the aggressor state.”

During the meeting, the parties also discussed further strengthening of sanctions pressure against russia and the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

“The future of both Ukraine and North Macedonia lies in the European Union,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk, expressing his gratitude to North Macedonia for supporting Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic course and hoping for parliamentary support for our country's accession to NATO.

In addition, the Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine thanked the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia for the important decisions taken – condemnation of russian aggression, joining various sanctions against russia and a number of other decisions aimed at helping and supporting Ukraine.

Following the meeting, the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Jovan Mitreski, stressed that he had come to Ukraine on the second anniversary of russia's full-scale invasion to express support for the Ukrainian people.

“Our support will continue. We will support you in every way we can, as a Parliament, as a country,” he said.

“We are already members of NATO. Our road is to the EU. You have our undoubted support on your way to NATO, and we hope that together we will be in the EU,” the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia also stressed.
