During the conversation, the parties paid much attention to interparliamentary cooperation.
“It is important that Ukraine is a unifying factor in the British Parliament, and all political forces in the United Kingdom, without exception, are unanimous in their desire to support Ukraine until it completely defeats the russian aggressor,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said, expressing gratitude to the United Kingdom for its leadership and security guarantees to Ukraine.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine also thanked for the powerful inter-parliamentary dialogue, which is intensively ongoing both at the level of speakers and parliaments, as well as at the level of friendship groups: “We are united by common values and principles – Ukraine is now at the forefront of a war for these principles and values.”
At the same time, he noted that further prompt supply of weapons remains the most important thing for Ukraine. During the meeting, Ruslan Stefanchuk outlined the urgent needs of the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine stressed that financial and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine is extremely important.
Finally, the parties focused on the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration. Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the United Kingdom for its leadership in the Peace Formula, noting that preparations for the Summit dedicated to its implementation are underway.
