During the meeting, the parties raised a number of important issues, in particular, the security situation, sanctions against the aggressor state, implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine, security guarantees for Ukraine, as well as Ukraine's path to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.

First of all, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasised the crimes and barbaric actions of the aggressor country, while focusing the attention of the audience on Ukraine's priorities.

These are ammunition and shells, and strengthening the artillery capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The parties also discussed the conclusion of long-term contracts between the governments of allied countries and defence companies for defence production.

“The speed of arms supplies remains critically important,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

“It is important to increase pressure on the metallurgical, financial and energy sectors, it is important to avoid exceptions for russian raw materials,” said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, stressing that strengthening the embargo on russian oil and gas, as well as sanctions against third-country companies that buy russian raw materials, could deprive the kremlin of the means to wage war.

“The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi's Peace Formula is a formula for a comprehensive approach to the logic of how Ukraine sees the end of this war. Ten specific points that are fair and that this peace will be not just peace, but a just and lasting peace,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

In addition, with regard to the issue of providing security guarantees for Ukraine, he said that it is important for Ukraine's ability to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. In particular, such agreements have already been signed with the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

“putin and russia must pay for this war. Our task as parliamentarians is to find a legislative mechanism by which russia will pay for this war,” said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“The main thing that unites us is the issue of civilisational choice. This is a war for the right to choose how to live our lives. And that no one else can tell us how to move our countries. And no one else can influence this right to choose,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed, adding that this is the basis of democracy.
