In the framework of the working visit, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko met with the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate Mei Li Vos and the Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives Roelien Kamminga of the General States of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The First Vice Speaker informed about the current security situation and large-scale enemy attacks on Ukrainian cities. He also emphasized the need to increase military assistance to protect Ukrainian people who are subjected to terror by the occupiers.

The parties discussed the importance of implementing the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. It remains the only realistic and comprehensive plan to restore Ukraine's territorial integrity and ensure security and justice for the entire international community. Oleksandr Korniienko expressed his expectations for the participation of the Netherlands in the Global Peace Summit. 

At the same time, he emphasized that it is necessary to keep the initiative to establish a special tribunal for crimes of aggression on the international agenda: “Punishment for the crime of aggression against Ukraine is a component of full accountability.”

“2024 is the second year of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and ten years of the terrorist state's war against our country,” emphasized Oleksandr Korniienko, inviting the Dutch Parliament to join the global campaign and adopt a resolution in support of Ukraine on February 24: “The resolution could include clauses on defense cooperation, sanctions policy, and confiscation of frozen russian assets.”

In conclusion, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked the Parliament and Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as well as the people for their humanitarian, financial and military support to Ukraine:

“Every decision and action brings us, the whole world, closer to a just victory over evil.”

The delegation includes members of the Ukrainian Parliament: the Head of the Permanent Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Yehor Chernev, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Law Enforcement Halyna Mykhailiuk, member of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy Oleksii Zhmerenetskyi and member of the Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities Andrii Zhupanyn.
