The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine together with representatives of parliamentary factions met with U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker and the delegation she leads.

The parties discussed further financial and military support for Ukraine from the United States, the reconstruction of Ukraine and the confiscation of russian sovereign assets.

First of all, Ruslan Stefanchuk noted and thanked for the unprecedented financial, military and humanitarian support provided by the United States to Ukraine in this difficult time.

“Today we are all united by a common vision, a common understanding that assistance and support to Ukraine is a major investment in the victory not just of Ukraine, but of the entire democratic world,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk, noting that Ukraine continues to need support.

In addition, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine emphasized that Ukraine understands the crucial importance of transparent, accountable and efficient use of American taxpayer funds.

The parties also focused on Ukraine's implementation of reforms and commitments to the IMF, the US, the EU, and other international donors. “This is one of our main priorities, and the vast majority of reforms are adopted in the Ukrainian Parliament,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk. “During the period of martial law, Ukraine is implementing the fastest and most fundamental deep reforms it has ever implemented throughout the history of Ukraine's independence,” he added. In particular, last year all the necessary legislative changes were implemented and Ukraine succeeded in opening negotiations on permanent membership in the European Union.

In terms of rebuilding Ukraine, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine emphasized the importance of confiscating russian sovereign assets: “It is putin and the russian people who must pay for everything that has happened here in Ukraine.” He also expressed his gratitude for the constant attention of the United States to this process, especially for the participation of U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in the London Conference on Ukraine's Reconstruction.

Finally, the parties discussed in detail the steps that would facilitate the smooth and wider attraction of investors. “It is especially important to support the Ukrainian private sector, in particular, to attract investments in the agricultural, IT and banking sectors," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said.

For its part, the American delegation praised the participation of representatives of all parliamentary factions in the meeting. Also, the American colleagues positively reacted to the progress made by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the area of anti-corruption legislation.
