"Tonight's night attack on the capital once again demonstrated the importance of continuing defence support for Ukraine," the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine stressed.

Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his gratitude to France for the substantial defence, financial and humanitarian assistance already provided. He also stated that he was looking forward to further supplies of weapons and military equipment, emphasising the additional need for air defence systems, especially in winter.

The parties also discussed the implementation of the President Zelenskyi's Peace Formula and the establishment of a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

They also focused on strategic issues for Ukraine, such as Euro-Atlantic and European integration. "Ukraine's future lies in a large European family," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said, thanking France for its active support of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. He informed that the Ukrainian Parliament had fulfilled all the requirements of the European Commission: "We are looking forward to the decision of the European Council to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union."

Ruslan Stefanchuk also expressed his gratitude for the fact that before the Vilnius Summit, official Paris had significantly strengthened its support for Ukraine's future membership in NATO and the provision of security guarantees for the period before accession.

"Our goal is to achieve maximum progress in implementing the decisions of the Vilnius Summit and to receive an invitation to join NATO at the Summit in Washington," he stressed.

In conclusion, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted the significant intensification of our interparliamentary contacts this year.
