The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, together with the Vice-Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Malgozhata Gosiewska, opened the international Polish-Ukrainian exhibition "Warsaw-Mariupol - cities of ruins, cities of struggle, cities of hope».

During the opening of the exhibition, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said: «It is symbolic that it was introduced on August 1 in Poland, the day the Warsaw Uprising began.  And today, on the date of the end of the uprising, the exhibition opens in Kyiv.  And I am grateful to Malgorzata Maria Gosiewska, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, for the initiative and support of the event.»
The Warsaw Uprising of 1944 lasted 63 days and claimed the lives of 150,000 civilians.

«78 years have passed and we see that the evil that took root is breaking out again.  Peaceful Ukrainian cities are in ruins, peaceful people are dying.» Stressed Mr. Stefanchuk.
He also noted that the reason for this is sick minds that believe they can decide human destinies, move borders and destroy the international order.
«Today's exhibition is not about the past.  It is about the future. I am convinced that after our joint victory, after the liberation of Mariupol, this beautiful Ukrainian city will once again become a decoration of Ukraine.» The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized.
