Oleksandr Korniyenko, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, emphasized this on the telethon "UA Together".
According to him, today, in the conditions of a full-scale war with russia, Ukraine should attract any platforms and significant dates, such as the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, in order to convey the historical truth to the world and its citizens as much as possible and to oppose russian false propaganda. This is important both for history and the present, as well as for the future return of all Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied and annexed by the invader, including Crimea.
"We are working to ensure that an active parliamentary discussion of this issue takes place within the framework of the Crimean Platform this year. So that in the parliaments of our fellow countries – the EU countries, the whole world – it is violated, and not forgotten against the background of full-scale aggression and temporary occupation of part of our territory," stressed the First Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament.
According to him, the problem of the annexation of Crimea should be constantly in the world's focus, because the invader turns the occupied territories into uninhabitable ones.
"Unfortunately, Crimea has not only turned into a militarized peninsula, a reserve of rashism, but also into a territory of total ecocide. Nature, ecology, people, thousands of political prisoners are suffering there. These are simply terrible things!", Oleksandr Korniyenko emphasized and reminded that the war started precisely with the annexation of Crimea and the pseudo-referendum held there.
According to him, russia wants to repeat this experience again, "building plans for the annexation of certain territories of Ukraine through the holding of another pseudo-referendum."
"Complete total destruction of all state services, neglect of human rights – all this is happening in the temporarily occupied territories and, of course, in Crimea. But Crimea is Ukraine and we will talk about it, we will raise the issue of protecting the rights of Ukrainians in Crimea, the rights of Crimeans who are currently in the territory controlled by Ukraine. We are fighting for the world's attention to be focused on this issue!", – assured the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Korniyenko.
