During his working visit, First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Korniyenko, met with the First Vice President of the Estonian Parliament Hanno Pevkur and invited him to pay a working visit to Ukraine

In particular, Oleksandr Korniyenko and Hanno Pevkur discussed the issues of assistance in demining territories, providing temporary housing for Ukrainians, and identifying the bodies of the dead.

According to the most conservative estimates, demining of Ukrainian territories can take about 30 years.

"Apart from mining, we have a significant number of shells that did not detonate. Work on demining the liberated territories of the Kyiv region is still underway," said Oleksandr Korniyenko.

For his part, Hanno Pevkur assured us that he keeps in touch with companies that can help resolve this issue.

"People want to return home, but they don't know what to do with their homes or whether there is a place to return to. There is no connection with the occupied territories," Oleksandr Kornienko said.

Therefore, according to Hanno Pevkur, it is a question of providing housing for Ukrainians in the temporarily destroyed territories: “Complexes can be delivered to Ukraine because many people have been left homeless. In fact, there are many areas where Estonia, together with the rest of the world, could help."

The issue of demining the Black Sea was raised separately, as about 600 mines are "floating" in the waters. Hanno Pevkur emphasized that the companies he contacted also have the opportunity to help demine the sea:

“During my visit, the experts Ukraine needs will go with me. You, for your part, will invite your professionals for their successful work together."

Hanno Pevkur assured that Estonia would also help in identifying the bodies of the dead:
"It is important that relatives and friends receive this information."

In response, Oleksandr Kornienko noted that there are currently about 120 unidentified people in Bucha, and French field laboratories are working on this.

"It's not just the war in Ukraine. It's the war in Europe, the war in Estonia. We have to hold constant talks on how else can we help you," said the First Vice President of the Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia.
