Olena Kondratyuk, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, is taking part in the Summit of Women Speakers of the European Parliaments, which is currently taking place in Poland, at the invitation of the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Elzbieta Witek.

According to her, the purpose of the summit is to organise real assistance to Ukrainian women and children who have found temporary protection from the russian invasion in the European Union.

More than four million Ukrainians have already been forced to flee their homes to find themselves abroad.

According to the Vice Speaker, the summit of women speakers should answer the questions of what measures are being taken to help Ukrainians in different EU countries and what still needs to be done. What mechanisms should be put in place to better coordinate support for Ukrainian refugees.

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament also noted that work  through parliamentary diplomacy is underway to address the pressing issues that Ukrainian women and children are facing in the EU member states.
