A meeting of the Bureau of the  OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was held in Copenhagen (Kingdom of Denmark), attended by Artur Gerasimov, Deputy Head of the Permanent Delegation, Member of the OSCE PA Bureau, Deputy Chairman of the OSCE PA General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment.

On the agenda of the Bureau are discussions of the war in Ukraine, current international issues, a report of senior officials of the Parliamentary Assembly, including OSCE PA President Margareta Cederfelt and speakers of three general committees, as well as the OSCE PA work plan.

The debate focuses on russia's violation of international law and all possible OSCE commitments, war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine, European security issues, including the nuclear related one, the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, ensuring human rights during armed aggression and human rights of refugees.

Special support for Ukraine was expressed by the President of the OSCE PA Margareta Cederlfelt, representatives of the United States, the United Kingdom and Denmark.

The members of the Bureau were addressed by the Ukrainian Parliament Member, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Delegation Artur Gerasimov and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Denmark Mykhailo Vydoynyk.

They informed the audience about the security situation in Ukraine, war crimes and crimes against humanity and the genocide of the Ukrainian people committed by russian troops in Ukraine, as well as the unprecedented humanitarian situation since the Second World War and the situation with refugees, internally displaced persons and mass destruction of Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure. They also demonstarted photo and video evidence of russia's crimes against humanity committed in the city of Bucha.

A minute of silence was declared for the killed Ukrainians.

Representatives of Ukraine called for increasing sanctions against the aggressor, in particular, to impose an oil and gas embargo, complete disconnection of all russian banks from the SWIFT system, to close the ports of member states for commercial vessels of russia.
Assurances were received at the beginning of the procedure for considering changes to the rules of the Assembly, which will allow suspending russia's membership in the OSCE PA. The idea of ??appointing a separate special  rapporteur on russia's military aggression against Ukraine was also discussed. In addition, the possibility of preparing a separate resolution on Ukraine for adoption during the Summer Session of the OSCE PA in July this year was discussed.
