The nonsense of war does not stop at someone's borders - it erases everything in its path. This was stated today by Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, during an online meeting with the Speakers of the Parliaments of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria.

"If we are all united, if we all impose sanctions on russia, if we give it the opportunity to feel what is economically painful, the war will come to an end. If we look for diplomatic biases and justify the aggressor, believe me, the war will not end. It will continue to grind on. Ukrainian men and women will pay for it with their lives, and the aggressor will go further.  Let's call a spade a spade. Let's face the reality. Because history gives us this lesson," Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed.

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informed that what he saw today in the cities of Irpin and Bucha is not even the horror of the Second World War.

"Tears were welling in my eyes when I was at the mass grave sites  packed with of people who had been dreaming of a normal life just one day before the massacre, but today they are lying in the mass grave. On a side note, 50% of Irpin and about 30% of Bucha were destroyed. Hospitals, educational institutions, schools, kindergartens, homes are destroyed. This is insane atrocity.  This is genocide," Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

He called on the representatives of the parliaments of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria to do everything possible to ensure that this never happens again, and those who committed these crimes are to be held accountable for the atrocities. The deaths of civilians amount to thousands of victims, who were simply killed because they are Ukrainians.

"I urge you to approach this strategically and comprehensively, and not to remain silent but instead to act and to make every effort to say that Europe today is united and capable of resisting the russian aggressor. On this occasion, I would like to invite you to Ukraine. I am ready to show you around the places where all the atrocities were committed by the russian federation against the people, against my country, against every Ukrainian," Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed.
