"Ukraine did not give in. Neither was frightened. The Ukrainian people gave a resolute rebuff to the cruel enemy," Olena Kondratyuk, Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada,  wrote on her Facebook page about the difficult month of Ukraine's struggle against the russian invader.

She noted that despite all the pain, losses, tragedies and human suffering brought by the russian inhumans and invaders, the Ukrainians have persevered and continue to resist.

"Everyone is in their place: in the rear, on the front lines, in the occupied territories, being displaced inside the country and in the forced evacuation abroad, safeguarding the most precious thing that the Ukrainian people have - our children," said Olena Kondratyuk.

According to the latest data, since the beginning of the russian invasion in Ukraine, 128 children have been killed and another 172 children have been injured. "It is impossible to comprehend and forget, this is not a special operation or war. Because even wars have their own rules, laws and taboo," said Olena Kondratyuk, adding that targeted shelling and killing of innocent children and their mothers, committed by the russian army is a genocide of the Ukrainian people.

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament expressed confidence that this absolute evil would be defeated and punished. And life would overcome death, and millions of Ukrainian women and children would return to Ukraine.

"I believe that love will overcome all difficulties and help heal our wounds. We will definitely rebuild Ukraine, city after city. We will make it even better for our citizens. It will be a country of really happy people and children," Olena Kondratyuk noted.

She noted that her faith is based on facts, as since the beginning of the russian large-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 15,000 couples have been married and 15,300 children have been born. Survey data is also optimistic, according to which 93% of Ukrainians who have been forced to leave their homes plan to return home after the war.

"No matter how difficult it is for us now - physically, morally, psychologically - we must be strong and keep our spirits up! We must hold the line and defence, go to work, pay taxes and utilities, build a reliable back, help volunteers and the Armed Forces, contribute with whatever and however everyone can to make our victory come true. And we should not get tired of being thankful to the defenders of Ukraine for each new day of life," Olena Kondratyuk addressed the Ukrainians.
