First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Kornienko took part in the information marathon. Oleksandr Kornienko spoke about the work of the MPs and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in general under martial law. According to the First Vice Speaker, martial law does not mean that the Parliament relinquishes its basic legislative function. "We are preparing the next meeting, it will be next week, approximately at the beginning of the week," he said, adding that security issues will be reported on the fact. Olexander Kornienko noted that many draft laws will be considered, primarily on economic issues. "In particular, there are initiatives that will help reduce fuel prices. This is extremely important before the start of the sowing campaign," he said. There are, of course, military issues. "Among other things, there are a few more issues that need to be addressed with the help of both local and international volunteers from around the world. There are issues related to certain aspects of military responsibility. These are all very topical things. We have all the committees working on them, many other draft laws are being proposed, but we will deal with the most important ones," clarified the First Vice Speaker. Oleksandr Kornienko also stressed that MPs of Ukraine are working and people in the regions see it very well. "Many members of parliament in the regions are now dealing with a lot of issues, ranging from carrying out their duties as part of territorial defence with weapons in their arms, to anti-terrorist operation to checkpoints and to some to humanitarian aid," he said, adding that many of them deserved the highest state awards. This applies to those who accompany the humanitarian corridors, who carry people literally on themselves out of the hostility zones, take them out of the occupied places both near Kyiv and in Kyiv City ??and also in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. According to Oleksandr Kornienko, some deputies are working in the diplomatic field. “We are working with partners and colleagues almost all over the world. This is also a kind of work 24/7. Now some of the members of Parliament are in Strasbourg, Brussels, at the PACE session," the politician said.
