Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk had a telephone conversation with the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola.
Ruslan Stefanchuk informed that Ukraine is under attack and blows from the Russian Federation.
The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada called on the European Parliament to make every effort to end the war.
For her part, Roberta Metsola stressed the EU's unity on the Ukrainian issue. The European Parliament supports an unprecedented European and international response, including new and tough sanctions that will bring the Kremlin to justice for its actions.
She said that an extraordinary session of the European Parliament on Ukraine is planned for March 1 to discuss the response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Roberta Metsola invited Ruslan Stefanchuk to join the meeting online.
