Ukraine intends to intensify the work of the NATO-Ukraine Interparliamentary Council (UNIC). This was stated by First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko during the working meeting with the Co-Chair of the NATO-Ukraine Interparliamentary Council (UNIC), Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Michal Scherba.

“Together with Mr. Scherba, we discussed ways to intensify cooperation between our countries, in particular, regarding Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations. It is important for us to be in constant dialogue and develop our partnership, so we invited a delegation of UNIC members to visit Ukraine in April to prepare a report for the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which will take place in Kyiv in May this year,” said Oleksandr Korniyenko based on the results of the meeting.

For his part, the Head of the Permanent Delegation of the Ukrainian Parliament to the NATO PA Yegor Chernev added that during the meeting were also discussed the peculiarities of cooperation, taking into account the situation near the state borders of Ukraine in connection with Russian aggression. In addition, according to the parliamentarian, there is already a preliminary agreement on the visit of UNIC delegates to Donbas, which may take place in the near future.
