Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, is convinced that the deepening of cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic at the parliamentary level will clearly affect the interparliamentary dialogue based on common European values and the principles of Euro-Atlantic security.

He stressed this during the telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Marketa Pekarova-Adamova.

The Speaker thanked both chambers of the Czech Parliament for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, for deciding on military-technical assistance and for treating the Ukrainian servicemen in the Czech Republic.

Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed that Ukraine is counting on the active position of the Czech delegation in the PACE, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the European Parliament.

"It is important to consolidate the international community to counter the aggression of the Russian Federation," he said, asking for support for a resolution to be considered by the European Parliament in support of Ukraine in the near future.

We seek a peaceful solution to the conflict through diplomacy. That is why we consider the issue of sanctions against Russia an important deterrent that prevents it from reckless steps, "Ruslan Stefanchuk said, noting that Ukraine's security is undeniably inseparable from Europe's security.

In this context, the Speaker called the active position of the Czech Parliament in supporting not only the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but also the European and Euro-Atlantic course of our state very important.

Emphasizing the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor tragedy in Ukraine this year, the Speaker requested that the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Czech Parliament decide to recognize the Holodomor of the 32-33s as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Ruslan Stefanchuk also called on Czech parliamentarians to actively cooperate in the format of the Crimea Platform.
