Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his gratitude for Poland's clear position on the international arena in consolidating the efforts of the world community to support Ukraine.
During the telephone conversation with Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Elzbieta Vitek, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked for the adoption of the resolution in support of Ukraine by the Polish Parliament on January 27 this year.
"This is an extraordinary political statement of support and solidarity with all the Ukrainian people, and we highly appreciate it," Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
According to him, there are many topics for discussion with Polish politicians: the issue of sanctions, the expansion of inter-parliamentary dialogue, assistance to Ukraine, and participation in the Crimea Platform.
During the conversation, Elzbieta Vitek noted that there is a large-scale diplomatic invasion at the level of parliaments, prime ministers, and foreign ministers of Ukraine in support of Ukraine in the face of aggression by the Russian Federation. She expressed hope that, despite the tense situation, thanks to such strong support, everything will end well.
Elzbieta Vitek informed that on February 16 Polish parliamentarians headed by Vice Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Ryszard Terletsky will arrive in Kyiv with a mission of support and solidarity with Ukraine. Elzbieta Vitek assured the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Polish full support.
"Without a free, independent Ukraine, there is no secure Europe," said Elzbieta Vitek.
