Ruslan Stefanchuk, "Diplomacy can stop the threats posed by Russia to Ukraine"

The President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada, the Government, and local self-government bodies are all working together for Ukraine's internal development and strengthening international cooperation in the face of Russian aggression. This was stated by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk at the opening of the 7th session of the Parliament of the ninth convocation.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada expressed his gratitude to the partners of Ukraine who have provided and continue to provide security and financial assistance. "The United States, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Turkey, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and many other countries are now in solidarity with Ukraine," he said.
Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that the Verkhovna Rada does and will do everything in its power to ensure that requests and legitimization of this assistance are timely, sufficient and necessary to protect the lives and health of Ukrainian citizens, preserve the independence and territorial integrity of the state.
"The active efforts of us and our partners give us firm hope that diplomacy will be able to stop the threats posed by Russia to Ukraine," Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
According to him, the result of parliamentary diplomacy, in particular, is a growing understanding in the world of the role that Ukraine plays for stability and security on the continent.
"The more our fellow parliamentarians in all countries of the world understand our reality and our intentions, the more stable our development will be. We must take care of our strategic partnerships, maintaining trust in us, as well as creating new inter-parliamentary alliances in support of Ukraine," said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed that the development of political dialogue with the States of the world is relevant as never. This year it is planned to develop the parliamentary dimension of the Crimea Platform.
