Increasing the level of trust in public authorities depends largely on the effectiveness of their state control. This was stated by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk during the meeting with the staff of the Accounting Chamber on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of its activity.
According to him, "the Accounting Chamber was and remains an authoritative body of parliamentary control." "In 2020, strengthening the control function of the Parliament through amendments to its Rules of Procedure gave a new impetus to the Accounting Chamber for its further development, efficiency and effectiveness," said Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada stressed the importance of strengthening the effectiveness of parliamentary control and reminded of the initiative to establish the Parliamentary Budget Office.
In addition, the Speaker expressed hope that due to the joint efforts of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Accounting Chamber and international partners during the VI International Conference EUROSAI-ARABOSAI in May next year will be able to demonstrate a strong and modern external audit in Ukraine.
