Ukraine's position on a peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbass and a complete ceasefire remains unchanged and will be presented by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Eastern Partnership summit with EU leaders and EU member states in Brussels on December 15. This was stated by First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Kornienko, speaking to journalists.
“In fact, the Normandy Four will meet without Russia and in a renewed lineup - with the participation of the new German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Ukraine's position, which will be represented by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, remains unchanged - it is a peaceful settlement and implementation of the decisions of the last Normandy summit, especially on the ceasefire in the Donbass,” he said.
At the same time, the First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament expressed hope for the support of international partners in returning Ukraine to a more intensive dialogue in the Trilateral Contact Group, as efforts should continue to persuade the Russian Federation to fulfill its commitments.
In addition, according to Oleksandr Kornienko, the summit will obviously focus on energy security in Europe.
