“This is a long-standing pre-Christmas tradition, which reminds us of the importance of peace, goodness, love and unity,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
For more than 30 years in a row, Ukrainian scouts have been bringing ‘holy fire’ to Ukraine before Christmas. The idea is to spread a symbolic fire lit at the birthplace of Jesus Christ.
The Plastuns wished that the Fire of Bethlehem “helped to find peace in the souls and our country. And in the session hall there was an understanding that would allow to work for the benefit of the whole country.”
Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the Ukrainian scouts. He wished the radiance of the Fire of Peace from Bethlehem to warm all of us, our families and Ukraine in general.
