Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Tomasz Grodzki and Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen jointly signed the final document of the XI Session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland.
The document, in particular, states that the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Seimas and the Senate of the Republic of Poland, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania condemns the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the attempted annexation of Crimea.
Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania also condemn Russia's illegal census in the occupied Crimea and do not recognize its results. The Assembly does not recognize the results of illegal elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
The document calls on the international community to strengthen restrictive measures and sanctions against the Russian Federation until the full restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.
In addition, the final document condemns the Belarusian authorities for persistent and deliberate human rights violations and the use of illegal migration as a tool to create an artificial migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian and Lithuanian-Belarusian borders. The Assembly calls on the Belarusian regime to immediately release and rehabilitate political prisoners illegally arrested or convicted; and to stop the escalation at the border and to stop the flow of illegal migration through its territory to neighboring countries.
The Assembly reiterates its support for reforms in Ukraine and its commitment to membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
