30 years ago we chose our path!
On December 1, 1991, the all-Ukrainian referendum was held in which more than 28 million Ukrainians said "yes" to Ukraine's independence. The referendum was a logical continuation of the millennial history of Ukrainian statehood. We have become the real creators of our state, the builders of "our own house", where "our truth, and strength, and will" rule. This aspiration has always united the Ukrainian nation, united us in the struggle for our independence.
However, in 2018, Ukrainians lost the opportunity to participate in the all-Ukrainian referendum, because the Constitutional Court of Ukraine declared the law "On the All-Ukrainian Referendum" unconstitutional. In order to return to every citizen a long-forgotten sense of self-importance for the state, this year the Parliament adopted the Presidential Law "On the All-Ukrainian Referendum".
From now on, Ukrainians can once again bring issues important to the country for general discussion and express their opinion on them. And it will be important for decision-making.
No one will be able to take away from Ukrainian citizens this right guaranteed by Article 5 of the Constitution of Ukraine. And this is the most important conclusion. To become a competitive country, we must all work together to do so. At that time, we were united in our desire to build an independent Ukraine. Let's be united today!
