Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk discussed the issue of counteracting Russian aggression with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Margareta Cederfelt.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Ukraine Tobias Tiberg, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation Oleksandr Merezhko and First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the European Union Vadym Halaichuk joined the discussion.
"We are grateful for Sweden's priority in countering Russian aggression during its chairmanship of the OSCE in 2021. The approval of the OSCE PA at its annual sessions of a number of resolutions condemning Russia's actions against Ukraine clearly demonstrated the commitment of parliamentarians from across the OSCE region to fundamental principles and commitments within the OSCE, and became an example of unity in defending them," Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine is convinced that the issue of counteracting Russian aggression is extremely important for restoring respect for the fundamental principles of the OSCE, which are grossly violated by the Russian Federation, and returning to an atmosphere of trust and mutual cooperation within the OSCE.
The Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed hope that the OSCE PA would be able to take part in the parliamentary dimension of the Crimea Platform's activities.
