The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada drew Duarte Pacheco's attention to the positive decisions taken for Ukraine within the Inter-Parliamentary Union`s work. In particular, was adopted the Resolution "Inadmissibility of the use of mercenaries, foreign militants and private military companies as a means of undermining peace, international security, territorial integrity of states and human rights violations."
"It is necessary to increase the attention of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to the challenges in international security. I appeal to you with a proposal to establish the Crimea Platform, thus starting informational and explanatory work within our organization," said Olena Kondratiuk, Deputy Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the National Parliamentary Group of Ukraine in the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Duarte Pacheco and Olena Kondratiuk also discussed the possibility of holding events in Ukraine in 2022 under the auspices of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
"I am a convinced friend of Ukraine.The Inter-Parliamentary Union will be happy to gather a large parliamentary family in Kyiv, if this is a joint decision with Ukraine," said IPU President Duarte Pacheco. He also noted the successes of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada in the field of gender equality and justice.
