Today we celebrate 25 years since the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine. A historical document that played a fundamental role in building the independence of our state. After all, it was the Basic Law that established the legal foundations of Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The path to the Constitution was not easy - it took years of hard and daily work. However, thanks to the efforts of the Parliament and the Ukrainian society, a consensus was reached and eventually the Basic Law was adopted. This historic moment made our independence legitimate not only in the eyes of the Ukrainian people, but in the eyes of the whole world.
In the 25 years since its adoption, the Constitution of Ukraine has changed. However, there are principles that have remained and must remain unchanged: the rule of law, freedom and democracy, respect for human rights and freedoms. They must be followed by all: regardless of position or social status. Only in this way will we be able to build the successful and prosperous state.
Therefore, let the Constitution serve as a guide for us to always work for the interests of the state, argue, listen to arguments and reach consensus. For the sake of the people of Ukraine, for the sake of the future, for the sake of the state - united, sovereign and independent.
