The Verkhovna Rada may convene an extraordinary session on Tuesday, May 18, to consider applications for the resignation of three members of the Cabinet of Ministers. This was announced by Speaker of the Parliament Dmytro Razumkov during the meeting of the Conciliation Council of parliamentary factions and groups.
"'The Servant of the People' faction made such a proposal on Friday. Signatures are being collected today. If the required 150 signatures are collected, an extraordinary meeting will be convened at 16:00, as usual," he said.
According to the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, the agenda of this sitting will include three personnel issues - the resignation of the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, the Minister of Infrastructure and the Minister of Health of Ukraine.
At the same time, Dmytro Razumkov stressed the need to hear the reports of members of the Government before voting for their dismissal. "We need to understand the position of ministers, hear their reports, understand what are the mistakes and what are the achievements. So that, when making the relevant decisions, we clearly understand what is the reason, for which we should be grateful or, perhaps, express a different position," said the Speaker of the Parliament.
He also said that other extraordinary meetings may be held this week. "This week we are planning at least one extraordinary meeting, and possibly more," said the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada.
