Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov paid tribute to the victims of the 76th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in the Second World War. First Deputy Chairperson Ruslan Stefanchuk and the Heads of the Parliamentary Committees also took part in the solemn ceremony of laying flowers to the monument on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
According to Dmytro Razumkov, many people gave their lives so that today we can celebrate the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II. “I think that every family in Ukraine has suffered from the war. Our state suffered some of the greatest losses during the Second World War. And in terms of economy and development, and most importantly - people. We lost a lot, we gave a lot so that we could talk about May 9 as Victory Day,” said the Speaker of the Parliament.
Dmytro Razumkov stressed that today it is important to know history in order to master its lessons well and not to repeat mistakes in the future. "History must be taught, it must not be rewritten and adapted to the political present. You just need to know it with all the pros and cons. With the achievements and losses, the victories that were during the Second World War," he said.
