Ukraine and Estonia will deepen their relations in the framework of bilateral political dialogue. This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov during the online meeting with the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia Juri Ratas.
"For us, the relations that exist today between our
states are very important, especially against the background of the escalation
and increase in military equipment that we have seen in the last few weeks. We
are grateful for the continued support of the Republic of Estonia," said
the Speaker of the Parliament and added that friendly relations between our
countries have been observed for many years.
Dmytro Razumkov thanked Estonia for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our state. He noted the active cooperation between our countries at the bilateral level. “We almost always have a common position on various international platforms. Even if Ukraine is not present on these platforms, we know that we have reliable partners, such as the Republic of Estonia, which defends the interests of our state," the Speaker stressed.
According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine
highly appreciates the humanitarian, financial and technical assistance
provided by Estonia, in particular, the treatment and medical rehabilitation of
Ukrainian servicepersons wounded in the East of our country.
"Unfortunately, we often have sad news that our military has been wounded,
or we have those who gave their lives for Ukraine," he said.
The parties also discussed issues of European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of our state. As Dmytro Razumkov noted, European integration remains a key priority of Ukraine's domestic and foreign policy. "We are moving in the same, right direction - towards the EU and NATO. In addition, we appreciate the advocacy that we see from Estonia to promote Ukrainian interests," he said.
In turn, the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia Juri Ratas assured of Estonia's support for Ukraine's European integration and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. He added that active cooperation between our states on international platforms will be continued.
