The difficult financial situation due to COVID-19, the fight against coronavirus, including vaccination, as well as ensuring the state's defense capabilities will be the main challenges facing the Ukrainian Parliament in 2021. This was stated by Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov.
“Difficult financial situation due to COVID-19, and a possible third wave of the disease, which has already begun to talk about today. I mean the so-called British code and many other things. It is also vaccination, it is providing the health care system with everything necessary, defense capabilities,” said Dmytro Razumkov.
According to the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, next year the dynamics of economic development of the state will need to be changed.
“The price has become too high. This is about the level of negotiations with creditors, and not only about the IMF, but also about everyone from whom we borrow resources. It is difficult to obtain resources both inside and outside the country. And it will also constrain our capabilities,” he noted.
The Speaker of the Parliament also expressed hope that next year it would be possible to break the deadlock in negotiations on the settlement of the situation in Donbas at the level of the Normandy format.
“This is not a problem of Ukraine. Unfortunately, this is a problem of another negotiator, whose position is quite destructive both in the TCG and in the Normandy format. I mean Russia,” stated Dmytro Razumkov and stressed that the Verkhovna Rada is also ready to join the negotiation process.
