Experts of the Venice Commission assured of readiness to provide full expert support to Ukraine in terms of providing conclusions on the impact of the decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on the anti-corruption ‘architecture’ of Ukraine, potential conflict of interest of individual judges, as well as a number of recommendations that would include options for determining and monitoring the integrity of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
The discussion was attended by Director General of the Director General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe Christos Giakoumopoulos, Executive Secretary of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) Gianluca Esposito, Acting Secretary of the Venice Commission Simona Granata-Menghini, Head of the Department of Justice and Legal Cooperation of the Council of Europe Hanne Juncker and Head of Division of the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights Pavlo Pushkar.
The participants from Ukraine were Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Malyuska, Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Fedir Venislavskyi and Representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Olha Sovhyria.
