Dmytro Razumkov noted the support of Ukraine in the conditions of the pandemic by the International Committee of the Red Cross and stressed that today Ukraine and the whole world face great challenges, which are supplemented by the problem of COVID-19.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in eastern Ukraine, given the approaching cold season. “We highly appreciate the humanitarian support of various measures in the temporarily occupied territories and in the territories that are directly near the line of contact,” said Dmytro Razumkov.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada thanked the ICRC for the comprehensive work carried out on Ukrainian citizens detained in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea. Ukraine is doing everything possible to make the process of releasing illegally detained citizens possible. Dmytro Razumkov noted the important role of the ICRC in this process. “Thanks to the help of the International Committee of the Red Cross, we are returning our citizens from the temporarily occupied territories,” Dmytro Razumkov stressed.
In turn, Peter Maurer thanked for the ongoing dialogue between the ICRC and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and noted that the International Committee of the Red Cross is ready to further deepen cooperation.
