During the Conciliation Council of parliamentary factions and groups, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine drew attention to the rate of spread of coronavirus disease and the large number of infected people, which was recorded last week.

“I appeal to the MPs and to the citizens - to treat themselves, their work, relatives and society responsibly. Wearing masks can seriously reduce the threat posed by coronavirus infection,” noted the Speaker of Parliament and added that this week there is a proposal to consider the draft Law on Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), which provides for increased liability for not wearing masks.

Dmytro Razumkov called for a responsible approach to funds from the Fund for the fight against Covid-19. “There are many areas in need of support. But let's set priorities - doctors, teachers, servicemen in eastern Ukraine and law enforcement,” he said.

In addition, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted that there was a request from representatives of parliamentary factions and groups to hear the Minister of Health of Ukraine, as the situation with the disease is exacerbated.  “It is very important to understand where we are going and what is needed from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. I am confident that, as always, we will be able to quickly join this process,” said Dmytro Razumkov.

Another important issue of the current plenary week is the consideration of the draft Law on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2021.
