The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament thanked the German counterparts for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, for a clear position in the negotiations in the “Normandy format” on resolving the situation in Donbas and for supporting Ukraine's European integration course. “This foreign policy course is enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine and is supported by the majority of Ukrainians,” he said.
Discussing the settlement of the situation in Donbas and the return of Crimea to Ukraine, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted that the Ukrainian side expects that Germany, as one of the EU leaders, will take an active position on the issue of deoccupation of Crimea. At the same time, Gunther Krichbaum assured that the issue of illegal annexation of Crimea occupies and will occupy a special place on the agenda of the Bundestag's Committee for European Union Affairs.
Dmytro Razumkov suggested launching the practice of holding joint meetings of committees in international affairs and EU affairs online. “This format of work will be an additional tool for coordinating positions in the field of foreign, security and European policy,” he said.
