During the visit to Germany, Chairperson of TheVerkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov met with Chairperson of the German-Ukrainian Parliamentary Group Omid Nouripour and its members.

The Speaker of Parliament expressed gratitude for the support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as the promotion of the interests of our state in the Bundestag.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed ways to bring Ukraine closer to the EU, the creation of a parliamentary platform in the Bundestag ‘Group of Friends of Crimea’ and the prospects of organizing joint meetings of parliamentary committees online.

During the conversation, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted that Ukraine continues to implement legislative changes on the way to reforming the country, in particular, the reform of decentralization and the opening of the land market.

During the meeting, much attention was paid to the course of anti-corruption reform in Ukraine. According to Dmytro Razumkov, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has been established in Ukraine thanks to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This court, together with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, has completed the creation of an anti-corruption infrastructure in Ukraine. However, some of the reforms need to be finalized in the legislative sphere in order to bring them in line with the Constitution of Ukraine.

Regarding the recent decision of the Constitutional Court, the Speaker of the Parliament noted that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will do everything in its power to ensure and restore the effective operation of all anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine.

Dmytro Razumkov also noted the importance of exchanging visits and the format of personal meetings at the level of deputies, profile committees and deputy groups for effective inter-parliamentary cooperation. “After overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic such initiatives will continue. We are also always happy to see members of the Bundestag in Ukraine and are ready to provide the necessary assistance in their work. I am convinced that parliamentary friendship groups are one of the main tools for the development of inter-parliamentary relations between Ukraine and Germany,” he said.

Dmytro Razumkov invited Chairperson of the German-Ukrainian Parliamentary Group Omid Nouripour and its members to visit Ukraine and thanked for the work aimed at strengthening relations between our states.
