The parties discussed a number of important issues, including the strengthening of cooperation in the military-technical field, countering cyber threats and the situation with the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine and Germany.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada thanked for Germany's consistent support of Ukraine's initiatives in the international military-political direction and for significant financial and technical assistance that contributed to the implementation of structural reforms in the country.
Dmytro Razumkov stressed the important role of the German Federal Government in granting Ukraine the status of a NATO`s Enhanced Opportunities Partner. He also reminded that membership in the EU and NATO is a strategic goal of Ukraine's foreign policy.
The Speaker of the Parliament stressed that without an independent, sovereign, democratic and European-oriented Ukraine, it is impossible to build a European security architecture. And Ukraine continues to reform its military and security spheres in line with NATO standards.
Dmitry Razumkov thanked Germany for the unchanging sanctions policy against the Russian Federation. In turn, Christian Democratic Union Party leader Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer assured that until Russia fulfills its obligations, there can be no question of lifting sanctions on Russia.
