Dmytro Razumkov noted that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is interested in the development of inter-parliamentary communications, as it can become an additional tool for coordinating common positions in various aspects of foreign policy.
In addition, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada said that Ukraine highly appreciates the position of Germany in supporting our country in a number of UN General Assembly resolutions and cooperation within the OSCE, the instrument of which continues to be the Special Monitoring Mission in the uncontrolled part of Donbass.
The issues of Ukraine's integration into the EU and NATO were discussed during the meeting. “Ukraine counts on further support of sovereignty and territorial integrity by EU partner states within internationally recognized borders,” said Dmytro Razumkov.
Ukraine's domestic policy was also discussed, including decentralization reform and the draft law “On Democracy through an All-Ukrainian Referendum,” as the referendum is a manifestation of direct democracy and expression of the will of citizens regarding issues important for the state. In addition, the topic of discussion was the idea of reducing the number of deputies to 300, namely - the possible consequences of the decision, as well as local elections held in Ukraine on October 25.
Deputy Chairperson of the faction of the Christian Democratic Union / Christian Social Union in the Bundestag Johann Wadephul noted the importance of the first visit of the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to Germany in the last 5 years and assured of further support for Ukraine's rapprochement with the EU.
