‘This visit of the Senate of Republic of Kenya has become the first visit of so high rank since Ukraine’s independence. We are pleased to welcome you on our land with hopes to enhance our mutual dialogue,’ stated Andrii Parubii, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada at the meeting with the Kenyan Senate’s delegation headed by the Speaker Ekwe Ethuro.

A.Parubii thanked E.Ethuro for the international assistance Kenya had been rendering to Ukraine, and in the International Court of Justice, in particular.

He also called on the Parliament of Kenya to adhere to Ukraine’s boycott of the 137th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to be held in aggressive Russia.

The parties then voiced their keen interest in further fostering of friendly relations between our Parliaments in view of the considerable development potential.

On behalf of the Parliament and the Senate the Speaker of the Senate of Kenya Ekwe Ethuro expressed his full confidence in the commitment to strengthening of amicable ties between our countries, and confirmed continuous international support for Ukraine.

The meeting was attended by Hanna Hopko, Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Yevhenii Tsymbaliuk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in the Republic of Kenya.
